Pete Worth
Sales & Marketing Manager
Pete joined Kankakee in the summer of 2009 as a sales assistant before taking over managerial duties in 2022. In addition to his sales responsibilities, Pete also leads our logistics and creates our marketing strategies. He holds a bachelor's degree from Marquette University.
When He’s Not Talking Plants: Pete loves playing basketball and shuffleboard, going to concerts, and Cubs baseball.

Tim Bostian
Sales Territory: Minnesota, Wisconsin
Tim joined the Kankakee family in the summer of 2024, taking over servicing customers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He holds a bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University and has over 20 years of industry experience in sales and management at various nurseries and landscape companies across the country.
When He’s Not Talking Plants: Tim enjoys playing golf, going to concerts with his wife and attending his kids' activities.

Preston Dyer

Preston hopped on board the Kankakee team in September of 2023 as our first-ever sales rep in the South-Central U.S. Preston has over 20 year’s experience in horticulture and agriculture sales and carries a deep-rooted passion for people and the green industry.

David Kieser
Sales Territory: Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio
David started selling full time for Kankakee in July of 2023. Although he has over 30 years of experience in the horticulture industry, David is a continual student and uses his love of learning to be a source of current information for our customers. He has a degree in Horticultural from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
When He’s Not Talking Plants: David loves visiting independent coffee shops, traveling to National Parks, and the St Louis Cardinals and Boston Celtics.
Michael Porter
Sales Territory: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri
Michael began his Kankakee Nursery career in August 2021 after spending the previous 12 years at Studebaker Nurseries in Ohio. Michael has a degree in horticulture from the University of Michigan and services customers in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska for Kankakee.
When He’s Not Talking Plants: Michael loves visiting breweries and wineries, hunting and Michigan football.

Jon Gerber
Sales Territory: Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming
Jon took over as our sales rep in the Rocky Mountain area in the summer of 2025 and we are thrilled to have him on the Kankakee team! Jon is a graduate of South Dakota State University and veteran of the Navy. He began full time outside sales in 2019, but his 23 years of experience in the Colorado nursery industry also includes time spent in shipping, purchasing and sales management.
When He’s Not Talking Plants: Pete loves snowboarding, traveling with his wife and daughters and wrestling (he's been a HS official for 9 years).

Steve Wagner
Sales Territory: Northeast/Mid-Atlantic
Steve joined the team in spring of 2024 and is now our inaugural salesperson for the East coast. Steve is a resident of New Jersey and has over 40 years of green industry experience, including over 30 in nursery production. Over his career, he has contributed his vast industry knowledge in leadership positions within multiple New England horticultural associations.
